Practical, hands-on and friendly, these one-day workshops are for beginners and photo-enthusiasts looking to get the most out of their cameras. Get more enjoyment and satisfaction from understanding how your camera works, improving your compositions and increasing your confidence. There is ample opportunity for participants to have their individual questions answered and attention given to your specific interests.

Participants are also invited to bring examples of their work for critique.

I also check your camera to ensure that it is on the correct settings.

FLASH AND LIGHTING: How and when to use flash and natural light.

FILES: Downloading images, storage and file resolution explained.

FOCUS: Simple tips to avoid those blurred and fuzzy shots.

INSTRUCTION MANUAL: How to use it to find what you’re looking for.

MACRO: Learn how to do close-up photos of bugs, flowers etc.

SHUTTER SPEED AND APERTURE: Learn their basic functions.

This course is also suited to those with Compact cameras with manual settings (A,P,S & M)

Through detailed instruction, tuition and practical exercises participants will learn and understand:

HISTOGRAMS: Learn how to read histograms.

DEPTH OF FIELD: Understand and learn how to control depth of field.

FLASH: How and when to use flash and natural light.

FOCUS: Simple tips to avoid those blurred and fuzzy shots.

SHUTTER AND APERTURE: Learn in detail the different functions of each of these components.

MANUAL SETTING: The functions of aperture and shutter are explained so you’ll be able to use your camera on manual and get correct exposures.

GOVERNMENT & CORPORATE COURSES

This two-part course can be custom-designed for your specific workplace needs.

The first part (one-day) includes focus, composition, functions of your camera, people photography including portraits and how to organise groups. The content is based on the SLR course.

The second part (2-3 hours) is a follow up session to solve any problems participants are having with their photographs or cameras.
